Stellantis has launched serial production of the spacious electric van Fiat Ducato Cargo Box at the Pro One plant in the Italian city of Atesa. This vehicle is remarkable not only for its cargo compartment volume, which is an impressive 18.5 cubic meters in the L3 version, but also for its width and height, allowing you to easily accommodate even large-sized cargo. In addition to the standard version, an extended L4 version is also offered with even more interior space - over 20 cubic meters, and with the installation of an additional module above the driver's cabin, the total cargo volume reaches up to 22 cubic meters. This solution makes the Ducato Cargo Box one of the most spacious electric vans on the market, suitable for various tasks in the field of delivery and logistics, where both load capacity and environmental friendliness are important.
The technical capabilities of the model deserve special attention, because a powerful 200-kilowatt electric motor is responsible for the movement, which is powered by a 110-kilowatt-hour battery. Thanks to the integrated 22 kW AC charger, the battery can be fully charged in just six hours – significantly faster than the more conventional 11 kW chargers, significantly reducing vehicle downtime. The 323 km range according to the WLTP cycle allows this van to be used not only within the city, but also on interregional routes, which expands business opportunities and reduces fuel costs. All these characteristics make the Fiat Ducato Cargo Box an attractive option for companies focused on fleet modernization and reducing carbon emissions.
The Stellantis Pro One plant in Ates is one of the largest commercial vehicle manufacturing and conversion centers in Europe. Its area exceeds one million square meters, and the production lines stretch for 15 kilometers, which is impressive in terms of scale and capacity. Interestingly, about half of the products manufactured here undergo additional customization, which allows the vehicles to be adapted to the most diverse customer needs. In addition, the company is known as a key supplier of camper chassis - about three quarters of all European motorhomes are built on the Fiat Ducato platform. Over the years of work since 1981, more than seven and a half million cars have rolled off the assembly line, and this only confirms the high reliability and demand for products.
The release of the new electric model is another step by Stellantis towards sustainable development and innovation. Thanks to a combination of thoughtful design, practicality and advanced technology, the Fiat Ducato Cargo Box is able to significantly influence the commercial vehicle market, offering an environmentally friendly and efficient solution for transportation. This is especially important in the conditions of the modern world, where environmental standards and requirements for reducing emissions are becoming increasingly stringent. The ability to quickly charge and a spacious body make this model extremely attractive for business, and the large-scale production capacity and experience of the company guarantee the high quality and availability of the new product. In the coming years, it is precisely such solutions that will set the tone for the development of the electric vehicle market in the cargo transport segment.
