Honda has prepared an update of its popular Civic model, presented on the European market. The car is in the middle of its life cycle, and this became the reason for updating its appearance and improving its equipment. The manufacturer tried to make the car more expressive on the outside and more premium on the inside, focusing on the requirements of the modern buyer. Externally, the restyled version is distinguished by a redesigned front bumper, which no longer has fog lights, but a larger air intake with a new internal pattern appeared. The radiator grille is now decorated with glossy black honeycomb decor, which emphasizes the modern style of the model. The Sport version uses black wheels, and the Advance package has two-tone diamond-cut wheels, emphasizing the status of the car. It is also worth paying attention to the appearance of a new shade of the Seabed Blue body, which replaced the previous Premium Crystal Blue.
The interior of the updated Civic is made in dark colors, including the upholstery of the ceiling and front pillars, which generally creates the feeling of a more strict and expensive atmosphere. All ventilation grilles received a matte chrome finish, which visually highlights the interior and emphasizes the attention to detail. Depending on the configuration, the list of equipment differs significantly. Thus, in the top version of Advance, LED lighting appeared in the footwell, which creates coziness in the dark. The Sport version received a heated steering wheel, which is especially important in winter. And the most affordable Elegance is now equipped with a module for wireless charging of smartphones, which makes everyday use of the car even more comfortable. All these changes emphasize Honda's desire to meet the growing expectations of customers, offering not just transport, but a modern and technological solution for everyday mobility.
As for the technical part, the manufacturer decided to keep the time-tested e:HEV hybrid power plant. It is based on two electric motors working in tandem with a two-liter gasoline engine. The total power reaches 181 horsepower, which provides the car with good dynamics combined with economical fuel consumption. This approach allows the Civic to remain competitive against other models in the class, including its main rival, the Volkswagen Golf. Without radically changing the technical stuffing, Honda relies on comfort, improved ergonomics and an expanded range of options, which have become an important selection criterion in this segment. It is noteworthy that despite the update, the balance between efficiency, power and environmental friendliness remains the same, which is especially important for the European consumer.
According to information from the official representative, the start of sales of the updated version of the Civic in Europe is scheduled for the coming months. Final prices and trim levels will be announced later, but it is already clear that Honda is counting on stable demand, based on the model's recognition, high-quality assembly and improved user characteristics. The update, although not the most radical, makes the Civic more relevant, especially in the face of increased competition in the class of urban hatchbacks. All that remains is to wait for the model to hit the showrooms to assess how successfully the manufacturer has managed to combine the desire for technology with the preservation of the brand's signature philosophy.
