The all-wood Bentley Continental GT has become a real sensation in the market of collectible models, since its creators invested more than three thousand hours in the work and processed more than a thousand parts, achieving an impressive resemblance to the original third-generation coupe. The model allows you to appreciate not only the artistic value, but also the precision of the engineering approach to reproducing all the characteristic elements of the car. The radiator grille, air intakes in the bumper, oval headlights, taillights, multi-spoke wheel rims and three-dimensional emblems completely repeat the Bentley brand signs. The doors open, providing access to the interior, made entirely of wood and imitating the original finish with precise drawing of all decorative lines and elements, which creates the impression of a real car, despite the absence of an engine and traditional functional units.
The wooden model was created in Belgium, but the name of the author is not disclosed. It is currently on display in the showroom of the American company Autosport Group in Florida next to the brand's real cars, which allows you to appreciate the craftsmanship and level of detail. The model was created using marine teak and plywood, and the frame is made of durable wooden beams, to which all the elements of the body and interior are attached. The interior repeats the complex patterns of the leather upholstery of the original Bentley and includes control panels, instrument clusters and decorative inserts, which allows you to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of luxury and style characteristic of a real coupe.
The seats of the model are made flatter and less embossed than those of the original car, but their wooden carving creates the impression of a diamond pattern, and all other elements, except for the steel axles and acrylic windows, are also made of wood. This design emphasizes the uniqueness of the model and at the same time makes it safe to use as an exhibit. The car is controlled using a rack mechanism, which allows it to be moved within the exhibition space. The wooden Bentley weighs only 907 kilograms, which is significantly lighter than the real Continental GT, which weighs up to 2,459 kilograms, while the proportions and shape are completely consistent with the original.
An American dealer has put the unique model up for sale on the eBay platform with an asking price of $98,900. This attracts the attention of collectors and lovers of exclusive art objects. For this amount, you can buy a used original Continental GT, but in the case of a wooden copy, the buyer gets a completely original work with a high degree of detail and a unique appearance. The interior and exterior of the model are not inferior to the original in visual perception, and the combination of automotive design, engineering precision and craftsmanship with wood makes it not only a collectible, but also a real artistic value.
