The automotive market is preparing for the arrival of the significantly updated Nissan Sentra, scheduled for release in 2025. This saloon traditionally competes strongly with popular models such as the Toyota Corolla and Volkswagen Jetta, and the new version features a radically redesigned exterior and modern technological equipment. The company's designers have worked hard on the car's appearance, giving it the signature style of the Ariya electric car with its distinctive sloping roofline, narrow headlights and expressive radiator grille. The rear has also undergone significant changes thanks to new LED lights connected by a light strip, creating a cohesive and modern look. The dimensions of the new Sentra show a slight increase compared to the previous generation, as the car is now 4656 millimetres long with a wheelbase of 2705 millimetres, which has had a positive effect on the interior space and comfort of the rear seat passengers. The width and height of the saloon are 1816 and 1445 millimetres respectively, maintaining optimal proportions for a car of this class. The manufacturer has paid particular attention to the interior, which is now dominated by a modern digital instrument panel with a 12.3-inch screen and a multimedia system of the same size that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless interfaces. Both displays are integrated under a single protective glass, creating the impression of a unified digital space, and the driver can choose between different driving modes via a special selector, including a sport mode for more responsive handling.
The technical component of the new Sentra has retained continuity with the previous generation, as the manufacturer decided to keep the time-tested 2.0-litre petrol engine with 149 horsepower and 198 Newton metres of torque. This power unit is combined with a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive, providing sufficient dynamics for everyday use in urban conditions and on country roads. According to insiders, a hybrid version of the model may appear in the future, offering improved fuel economy, but there is no official confirmation of this information at this time. Sales of the updated saloon will begin in late 2024, and prices will be announced closer to the start of official deliveries, traditionally remaining competitive with the main rivals in this market segment.
The 2025 Nissan Sentra is a balanced offering in the compact sedan class, combining fresh design with recognisable features of the brand's new design philosophy, modern technological equipment with a digital instrument panel and a large multimedia system, as well as proven technical components with a reliable engine and transmission. The manufacturer has managed to retain the key advantages of the previous generation while significantly improving the car's exterior and interior design, making it a serious competitor to such recognised leaders in the segment as the Toyota Corolla and Volkswagen Jetta. Buyers will be able to choose between different trim levels, including the sporty SR version with additional styling elements, and Nissan's traditionally attractive pricing policy should ensure that the new model occupies a worthy position in the competitive compact saloon market.
