Canadian engineering company Inkas Armored Vehicle Manufacturing, a well-known name in the global market for specialized, high-security vehicles, has officially announced its own development based on the renowned Land Rover Defender Octa SUV. It has been officially named Edition One and is now available for pre-order, although the final price has not yet been disclosed. The company's specialists have taken one of the most powerful and capable versions of the modern Defender as a basis to create a truly reliable armored fortress on wheels, capable of providing its passengers with an unprecedented level of passive safety in unpredictable urban driving conditions or long journeys on roads with volatile operational environments.

Inkas engineers extensively upgraded the vehicle's body and key structural components, integrating a fully-fledged BR6 military-grade armored capsule. This certification confirms the vehicle's ability to withstand fire from a standard 7.62mm rifle and the simultaneous detonation of two DM51 hand-held fragmentation grenades under the doors without critical damage to vital components. To achieve these results, multilayer composite armor was used, combined with special thick glass that offers high bulletproofness while maintaining acceptable optical clarity. The fuel tank and chassis areas were also reinforced. Special wheels and runflat systems concealed behind the standard wheels ensure continued traction even after severe tire damage. The vehicle's appearance is enhanced by the manufacturer's signature badges on the body, lettering on the sills, and stylish carbon fiber inserts, with hidden strobe units visible behind the radiator grille.

The Octa's interior has been retained virtually as it is offered by the manufacturer, as engineers deemed the original level of finish and comfort sufficient for a vehicle of this class. All key controls, the multimedia system, and the quality of the materials used remain unchanged. At the same time, buyers are offered an expanded list of optional equipment that transforms the car into a high-tech command center. This includes a modern forced-air filtration system and fresh air supply, thermal imaging and all-round cameras for driving in zero visibility conditions, special locking mechanisms and door opening assists, a powerful warning siren, and a roof hatch for rapid evacuation in the event of an emergency.

The armored Defender Octa Edition One remains powered by the same powerful 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which in the standard version produces an impressive 626 horsepower and a maximum torque of 749 Newton-meters (749 Newton-meters), allowing the base SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour (0 to 100 kilometers per hour) in just 3.8 seconds. Naturally, the new armored version, due to the significant increase in weight due to the installation of heavy armor, demonstrates slightly different performance figures. However, even so, it remains one of the fastest and most maneuverable vehicles in the armored civilian SUV segment, capable of quickly escaping potential danger thanks to its powerful engine and proven all-wheel drive. Inkas has already opened pre-orders for this unique vehicle, but the final price for each unit will be calculated individually, depending on the customer's choice of additional equipment and special safety systems.
