The new MG S6 EV electric crossover found itself in the spotlight in a most unexpected way, as its first public reveal took place not at an official event, but on the Euro NCAP website, which published photos from crash testing. The British-Chinese brand has traditionally remained tight-lipped about its new model, but European safety experts accidentally declassified the car, releasing a series of images that clearly show both the main exterior features and the results of rigorous crashworthiness testing. These photos show the model in its finished form, allowing for a completely objective assessment of its design concept and some of its construction features.
The exterior of the electric car demonstrates continuity with the smaller S5 model, although the designers have clearly given it a more dynamic and distinctive character. The front features a prominent, narrow radiator grille, divided into two sections and positioned at the bottom of the bumper, as well as stylish LED daytime running lights. The headlights are separate and distinctly triangular. The rear end looks cohesive and modern thanks to an LED strip that unites the taillights into a single element, and the overall impression is complemented by a black bumper and a prominent diffuser, adding a sporty touch. Regarding technical features, a choice of front-wheel and all-wheel drive has been confirmed, with the powertrain likely borrowed from the S5 model, with a corresponding increase in performance for the dual-engine version.
The most impressive results were the crash test results, where the new model received the highest five-star rating from the Euro NCAP commission, immediately placing it among the safest cars in its class. A detailed analysis of test reports reveals an exceptional level of protection for all road users, with adult occupant safety rated at 92 percent, and for children, the figure reached 85 percent. The developers also paid close attention to pedestrian protection, where the model scored 84 percent, and to the effectiveness of the active driver assistance systems, which achieved a score of 78 percent. The official premiere of the MG S6 EV is scheduled for late November, at which time full details about its technical specifications, range, and pricing will be revealed.
