Volkswagen has officially unveiled a new generation of one of its most popular models, the T-Roc crossover, which will hit the European market this fall. The car has undergone a major update, and the changes affected not only its appearance, but also its technical features. The crossover is built on the modern MEB Evo platform, which allowed it to grow in size and get closer to its larger siblings in the model range. Now the body length is 4,373 millimeters, the wheelbase has increased to 2,631 millimeters, which made the interior more spacious and at the same time maintained ease of use in urban conditions. In the Volkswagen model line, the new T-Roc took its place between the compact Taigo and T-Cross, as well as the larger Tiguan and Tayron. Visually, the car differs from its predecessor with a redesigned front end and more dynamic body lines, which provided it with an aerodynamic coefficient of 0.29. Among the main innovations are the new radiator grille, updated headlights and bumper with a pronounced air intake in a sporty style, a thin LED strip across the entire width of the front end and an illuminated brand logo. The rear end has also changed due to a wider pillar, embossed wings, united by an LED strip of lights and a sloping rear window, which gave the car an appearance with coupe elements.

The manufacturer will offer the crossover in several trim levels, from the basic to the Life, Style and R-Line versions. The latest version has a pronounced sporty character and stands out with enlarged air intakes on the front bumper, the presence of a rear diffuser, as well as an optional Black Style package, which adds darkened decorative elements to the exterior. Customers will be offered six body colors, including bright Canary Yellow, rich Flamed Red and deep Celestial Blue, as well as the option of choosing an option with a contrasting black roof. The interior of the new generation T-Roc is reminiscent of the older Tiguan and Tayron models, and the quality of the finishing materials has been significantly improved. The standard equipment includes a ten-inch digital instrument panel and a multimedia system with a 10.4-inch screen, and for an additional fee you can order a display for the front passenger, ergoActive seats with electric adjustment in fourteen directions and a premium Harman Kardon sound system. In addition, the list of ADAS electronic assistants responsible for safety and driver assistance has been expanded.

The increased body dimensions have had a positive effect on the spaciousness of the cabin and the volume of the trunk, which is now 465 liters, which makes the car more practical in everyday use. At the first stage of sales, the new T-Roc will be available with two mild hybrid units built on the basis of a 1.5-liter eTSI engine. The basic version develops 116 horsepower and 220 Newton meters of torque, and a more powerful modification produces 150 horsepower and 250 Newton meters. Both options are equipped with a seven-speed DSG gearbox with dual clutch, which provides smooth and fast gear shifting. Later, the line will be expanded with a full-fledged hybrid version combining a 1.5-liter TSI evo2 engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. Buyers will be offered two power versions of 134 and 168 horsepower, which will allow you to choose the optimal combination of dynamics and efficiency. For adherents of classic gasoline solutions, a version with a two-liter TSI engine and an all-wheel drive system will be offered, which will provide the car with confident behavior on any surface.

Pre-orders for the updated Volkswagen T-Roc in European countries will start at the end of August, with the first deliveries planned for November of this year. The manufacturer has not yet announced the cost of the car and promises to reveal the pricing policy closer to the official launch of sales. It is expected that the updated crossover will retain the attractive price-to-equipment ratio that made it so popular in the first generation, and a wider choice of power plants, an improved interior and a modern set of safety systems will allow the new T-Roc to strengthen the brand's position in the compact crossover segment and seriously compete with similar models from other manufacturers on the European market.
