
The Ukrainian automotive market continues to actively saturate itself with new global electric transport models, and in the near future, they will be joined by the full-size seven-seater Peugeot E-5008 crossover, which promises to be one of the most technologically advanced offerings in its class. This model is a fully electric version of the recently unveiled petrol-powered Peugeot 5008, which is immediately apparent in its classic and recognisable SUV body proportions with an expressive, smooth bonnet and a massive passenger compartment ending in an almost vertical boot door. The new model measures 4.79 metres in length and 1.90 metres in width, and combined with a wheelbase of two metres and ninety centimetres and large twenty-inch wheels, this car makes a solid and fundamental impression, emphasising its flagship status in the manufacturer's model range.
Car design experts will surely be drawn to the specific exterior details that distinguish the electric version from the standard version, such as the special graphic design of the model badge with a stylised letter E, indicating the eco-friendly power plant. Another interesting element is the neatly integrated cover that conceals the Type 2 CCS charging port, which supports the widest possible range of options for recharging the vehicle's energy supply. The built-in charger has a power output of 11 kW, which allows the 73 kWh lithium-ion battery to be fully charged in approximately four and a half hours using a stationary Wallbox device that can be installed in a private garage or corporate car park. After this procedure, the energy reserve is sufficient to cover a distance of up to 467 kilometres in a mixed cycle according to the WLTP methodology, and for long journeys, the fast charging option is extremely useful, restoring the battery capacity from 20 to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes.
The main engineering feature of the new Peugeot E-5008 is undoubtedly its sophisticated 4x4 all-wheel drive system, implemented by installing two independent electric motors on the front and rear axles respectively. This layout not only ensures confident handling on difficult road sections thanks to the constant and smooth distribution of torque to all four wheels, but also reveals the high dynamic potential of the powertrain. The total output of the two electric motors reaches 239 kilowatts or 325 horsepower, allowing the heavy crossover to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in just 6.5 seconds, and its maximum speed is electronically limited to 180 kilometres per hour. The manufacturer has already announced the start of a pre-order programme through official dealers in Ukraine, who are ready to provide comprehensive information about available configurations and exact price offers for the first customers awaiting delivery of their cars in the coming months.
