The new Mazda EZ-60 electric vehicle has officially debuted in China. It is planned to be launched globally under the CX-6e designation. This model is the result of a successful joint venture between two auto giants, Japanese Mazda and Chinese Changan, underscoring the strategic importance of the local market for the manufacturer. The new model is positioned as an affordable electric crossover with an attractive starting price of approximately eighteen thousand two hundred US dollars, making it one of the most attractive offerings in its segment and potentially a significant disruptor among competitors.

The vehicle's exterior is unmistakably a product of Mazda's design studio, as it adheres to the brand's current and well-loved style. Key exterior features include a streamlined body with a prominent high glass line, a gently sloping roof for a dynamic silhouette, and prominent wheel arches that emphasize its readiness for use in a variety of conditions. The visually aggressive and modern look of the front end is enhanced by ultra-thin headlight units, connected by a graceful light strip integrated into a blind panel in place of the traditional grille. A significant step toward futurism is the use of rearview cameras, which completely replace conventional side mirrors, not only improving aerodynamics but also setting a new standard for equipment in this class.

While the exterior of the new model logically continues the brand's philosophy, the Mazda EZ-60's interior represents a completely new and unique concept in the organization of space for the driver and passengers. The centerpiece of the cabin is a massive 26.5-inch widescreen display with incredibly high 5K resolution, which functions as both the central display for the multimedia system and a source of entertainment for the front passenger. An even more impressive innovation is the augmented reality head-up display, which projects information onto the nearly 100-inch diagonal windshield, allowing the driver to view key information without taking their eyes off the road.

The crossover's technical specifications are based on an all-electric powertrain, in line with current trends in the global automotive industry. A single electric motor, mounted on the rear axle, produces 255 horsepower, ensuring confident acceleration. The manufacturer claims a range of up to 600 kilometers thanks to a modern lithium-iron-phosphate battery with a capacity of 77.94 kWh. For buyers with increased range requirements, a special extended-range version will be available. A 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine serves as an onboard generator to recharge a separate battery, making this model an electric vehicle with flexible power options.
